You may recognize "the lady in the roll of aluminum"
This family-owned business was founded in 1968 when Frank Ferree bought eight buckets of hardware from a Wichita, Kansas airplane factory. Little did he know these eight buckets would be the start of Airparts Inc. Frank and his wife Ethel turned their basement hobby into a business! Although the founders passed in the late nineties, their heirs are carrying on the family business.

In 1977, Frank and Ethel's daughter. Pam Warner, joined the Airparts team, working in the warehouse and the office. Chris Whitney, the Granddaughter, came to work at Airparts in 1987, and Mark Warner, a Grandson has also come on board. When you call, you will probably speak with Pam, Chris, or Mark. They will be glad to help you in any way they can. They take pride in shipping most orders within 24 hours.

Modern, Modular, Multipurpose

ModVans started as a group of friends who bought a used 26' Class C RV. They discovered they loved camping in the RV, but the class C was too big for weekend trips, and it was scary to drive in the snow or on dirt roads. The search began for a more modern camper van solution. The Ford Transit was the ModVans choice for an RV platform. Traditional RV manufacturers were stuck on Promaster and Sprinter vans and had no interest in building a Camper Van with a Popup top that is easy to drive and park. Being engineers and scientists, they decided to build their own. The ModVan prototype launched a business around the concept of a modern camper van.

ModVans is a new Recreational Vehicle Manufacturer based in Ventura, California. They have a vision is to build a line of high-quality, high-design RVs for modern lifestyles and budgets and offer them for sale direct to the consumer. Their chassis are built by Ford at the Kansas City Assembly Plant. The ModVans CV1 is assembled in Ventura, CA, by an employee-owned, environmentally aware corporation that pays living wages and offers full benefits.

How to See the CV1
Modvans is based in Ventura, CA.  If you'd like to see their vans you can attend the CampNation Expo or Schedule a demo directly with ModVans.

Where Does ModVans Camp?
Because their van will fit into almost any campground parking space, you can generally camp in your CV1 anywhere you would normally camp, plus you can camp in RV-specific campgrounds and campsites that include "hookups" for power, water and/or sewage. Some of their favorite places to camp include:
  • National Forest Dispersed Camping: Free - not all available places are documented, but see https://freecampsites.net/ for ideas.
  • National Forest Campsites: Typically $10/night - no hookups
  • National Park RV Campgrounds: Yosemite, Yellowstone, Lake Powell, etc.
  • State/County/City Park RV Campgrounds
The ModVans crew prefers the quiet and solitude of National Forest camping. On long trips, they like to stay several days in National Forests, then spend a night in an official RV campground to take showers and empty and fill the water tanks.

A Generator You Didn't Know Existed!

1/5/2023

When you NEED a generator, you REALLY NEED a generator! We are usually camping in a park with power, but not always. What about when the power goes out at home? It would be nice to have a backup power source for those occasions. The downside to a generator starts with the initial cost. Still, it was more about hauling a generator around and having gas to keep it running. The smell of gas, gas going bad, and what about leaks and spills? I always convinced myself I’d lived this long without one, until I discovered an option I didn’t even know existed!
Picture
It exists, and you already own it!
In an ideal world, you need a quiet, fuel-efficient engine to use as a power source. Not only does this perfect generator exist, but you already own it. CarGenerator uses your vehicles engine to produce 110v AC to power your RV or as a backup if you lose power at home. CarGenerator is safe and reliable, as it integrates a high-quality inverter into a complete plug-and-play package. It works with your car, and RV, or home electrical systems, even in wet weather! At only 11 pounds, this is the lightest generator you will ever lift.

CarGenerator vs inverter
You have probably seen inverters for sale online and in local electronics and auto stores. Is this the same idea as CarGenerator? An inverter is a primary component of CarGenerator. However, the specific inverter used, the patented weatherproof case, and high-quality jumper cables make up the complete package. The sealed case shields the inverter from wet weather, protecting the inverter, your car, and your home electrical systems from potential damage.
  • Oxygen-free pure copper high-heat battery cables
  • CarGenerator’s inverter balances the power needs of your home or RV while ensuring your vehicle isn’t overtaxed.
  • Years of safe real-world use of CarGenerator for thousands of customers

Is my vehicle made to run like this?
Chances are your car already spends a fair amount of time idling or crawling in traffic. Modern vehicles are designed different than the engines in older vehicles. Engine computer systems continuously adjust sensors to keep the engine at its safest and most efficient running conditions.
Picture
Ford has designed their F-150 trucks with a built-in generator
advertised to idle for 85 hours on a tank of fuel.
Picture
Is CarGenerator right for you?
If you require emergency power on a regular basis or large amounts of power, a traditional gas generator may still be your best option. A CarGenerator was designed to use a vehicle to produce emergency backup power. It is easy to store in your car or RV, just in case. CarGenerator isn’t a replacement for portable gas generators. But I found that it is a better alternative for the way we travel and our needs.
